Volunteer in Kenya

Volunteer4Free Kenya (V4FK) gives voluntourists an opportunity to make a difference in Kenya free of charge. The coordinators – some with Kenyan volunteer experience stretching over several years – find the high fees asked by many "volunteers for Africa" organizations repulsive.

V4FK is seeking volunteer teachers to help pupils in Nairobi's Soweto slums learn to read English.  Volunteers with our slum reading program are trained in using a few basic resources (story books, flashcards, dictionaries) to teach English to primary school pupils in a Nairobi slum environment.

There are a number of ways for Volunteer4Free Kenya (V4FK) volunteers to help financially, though there are no obligations.  All V4FK activities are hands-on, allowing individuals a lot of direct influence.  This can be expressed via time, finance, material gifts, or a combination of the three.

Teaching Project

We are a free volunteer program based out of Nairobi, Kenya.  We offer 'voluntourists' an opportunity to immerse themselves in a new culture, make a difference in a developing country, and develop true friendships with like-minded individuals.

Join us in teaching English to children in Nairobi's Soweto slums, organizing games, and visiting patients at Kenya's main public hospital.  And do it all free of charge, i.e. no $1,000 placement fees!
